Villages of Hope Intake Criteria 

Villages of Hope offers a safe home and restoration for adult female victims of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

• Make an initial assessment if the client is suitable for Villages of Hope (VOH). 
• Client must be 18 yrs or older 
• Client must not have children living with her (unless arrangements have been made for placement elsewhere) 
• We do not accept pregnant Women
• Client must have clean time from drugs/alcohol or be willing to go into treatment before starting our program 
• Client must be biologically female, identifying as female 
• Cursory Mental Health assessment should be done:

~Is the client able to participate in classroom activities? 

~Is the client at a Jr high level or greater of developmental ability? 

~Client may not be a candidate for the VOH program with certain severe mental health disorders  

• Have the client speak to the Survivor Support Specialist/Advocate for an initial phone interview.
• A client must be identified as a sexually exploited and addicted woman. 
• VOH is not a substance abuse program. Substance abuse should not be the main issue. 

• A new resident must be willing for a psychological assessment to be done. 
• Over the course of the one month orientation period a determination will be made as to the suitability of the client for our program. 
• Each client should have an understanding that VOH offers a comprehensive Life Skills and Restoration program and that participation in the program is expected when staying at VOH.
• Each client should understand that Villages of Hope is an organization rooted in biblical values of love, grace, dignity, healing, and hope. While participation in faith activities is always optional, organizational programs, community spaces, educational content, and staff-led activities will align with our Christian values.
• Residents retain the freedom to make personal choices and hold personal beliefs. VOH does not police private beliefs or require agreement with Christian doctrine. However, residents are expected to respect the faith-based nature of the organization and refrain from promoting or organizing activities that conflict with the organization’s biblical value within community spaces or programs.
• VOH is not a lock down facility. The client is free to leave if she chooses. IF the client chooses to leave the program, she is responsible for her transportation needs. 
• There is no fee required to be in the VOH program. 

About Villages of Hope 

• VOH is managed by AM/PM Staff Shifts
• All the women in the community share cooking & cleaning responsibilities. 
• It is in an undisclosed location for the safety of those in the program.
• A client must be able to climb stairs and be physically able to participate in normal everyday activities. 
• No personal vehicles allowed
• During Phase One there is no email, facebook, cell phone or internet allowed. These are necessary safety precautions for our residents. These are privileges that may be earned in our Milestone Guidelines on an individual basis. 
• A client is allowed to bring two bags with her. We will help her with any additional clothing needs that she may have. We will provide for her toiletry needs.

About VOH Community Center 

• Therapy and Group Therapy is offered at the Community Center 
• Attendance at the Community Center for classes and activities is mandatory. A potential resident must be able to participate and engage in classroom activities. 
• All staff and core volunteers have been vetted with background checks and have completed Trauma-Informed training for working with exploited women. 

The application takes 20-40 minutes to complete.
